DocTalk is an application that stores medical reports and prescriptions.It helps patients to communicate with their doctors online. It is also known as Pulse India and is a private company. This app was very useful during the corona period. It was founded by Akshat Goenka and Vamsee Kamakura with the legal name Doc Talk Solutions Inc. in August 2016. It works on the subscription model. It charges a subscription fee from patients. It pays starting fee to doctors to join with it and guide the patients. The main marketing strategies are social media advertisements, visual marketing, advertisement through the doctors and targeting patients. There were certain challenges faced in this kind of app like communication gap between doctor and patient, service continuity, gaining patient trust, trustable staff members with a high patience level. The major reason that caused the shut down was, it's inability to pivot which meant it did not have a plan B in case it's initial business model did not succeed. The planned transition into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) business from existing business model didn't yield the acceration needed.To conclude this can be a lesson for all of us planning for a start up to have an alternative business route.
